Anyone can be red carpet ready!

Take inspiration from these celebrity workouts and adopt a fitter, healthier lifestyle!

It's award season (I realize I am writing this post-Oscars but no matter) and I'm finding many fabulous resources for new workouts! Also floating around the internet and flashing on our TV screens are images of celebrities wearing beautiful gowns and dashing tuxedos. I have to say that seeing all that glitz and glamour makes me want to exercise. I may not be wearing a gown for the Oscars anytime soon (I'm not ruling out the possibility either), but I don't need to go to an award ceremony to work towards feeling amazing in my clothes. Who needs a red carpet to be red carpet ready? Not me and definitely not you!

So what kind of exercises do these celebrities do to get themselves in shape? Everyday Health shares their workout tips and routines from ten famous ladies in Red-Carpet Fitness Routines and from ten famous men in Work Out Like a Star.

Everyday Health pulls inspiration from such famous names as Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston and Helen Mirren to George Clooney, Sting and Denzel Wahington. These fabulous fitness tidbits will give you and me some great ways to enhance our exercise routines!

Want to break a bad habit, like that 3 o'clock cookie?

Here's an interesting video from Charles Duhigg. Learn the power of habits and how to break the bad ones!

So, according to Charles Duhigg, it's possible to break a bad habit with a little bit of analyzing and of course, will power. But maybe, once you've analyzed the what and the why of a bad habit, you won't need as much will power to quash it!

If it's snacking habit you are trying to break, don't worry; you aren't alone. One way I avoid snacking on cookies regularly is to replace my cookie with something healthier like fruits. Fruit will give me the satisfaction of munching and sweet flavours. Or I try to drink more water. My weakness is the ginger molasses cookie from Starbucks. To help me get over that habit, I try to avoid Starbucks or when I'm there, I get something sweet and spicy like chai tea!

Everyone has their different ways to deal with habits. Charles Duhigg has another way of dealing with bad habits. If it worked for him (he was able to lose weight 12 pounds by kicking one bad habit!), it could work for you and me!

Check it out and tell me what you think!

Get inspired to workout and save money!

Bribe yourself into fitness with a personal tip money jar!

Sometimes it can be hard to get motivated for your workout. It's cold and chilly outside or maybe it's too hot. You're busy and have no time. You're not feeling well or, plain and simple, not in the mood to get off of the couch! I've been there, you've probably been there, we've all been there at least once in our lives!

So what can we do for motivation? Here's an easy do-it-yourself project that can help get you in shape and saving money!

Grab a jar, preferably clear so you can see the contents grow and keep yourself motivated. Every time you successfully get off the couch and complete a workout, reward yourself by adding a dollar or two to your fit money jar! Give yourself a goal or a timeline. For example, wait one month before counting the contents and/or tell yourself that you wont spend the money until you've reached $50 dollars!

It's as easy as that! After dedicating yourself to your workout and donating to your fit jar, treat yourself! Pledge that money to something small, like a manicure or a new book! If you'r feeling really motivated, up the stakes! Pay yourself more and save for a big treat like a weekend getaway!

It's a good trick that you can use to get motivated and inspire yourself to do almost anything, from working out to taking vitamins! Good luck and get motivated! And don't forget your daily fibre!

Train Like an Angel!

It's not all fluff and poses for the Victoria's Secret models. They work to be runway ready!

Whether you are interested in fashion or not, you have undoubtedly seen many many times, images and ads of terrifyingly thin models and photoshopped movie stars floating around. Almost everywhere we look now, there they are: skinny girls and doctored photographs setting an impossibly high and unhealthy standard for body image.

Here's a different image of a model:

It is refreshing to see a company and it's models promote a healthier lifestyle and share their workouts. Yes, these women still seem incredibly small but at least we know they actually work for their figures. Aside from the videos they share, here's another tid bit to consider: many of the wings they wear on the runway are actually quite heavy! These models have put up to 50 pounds of extra weight on their backs while still keeping their walk tall and stilettos firmly on the ground!

In preparation for this year's show, they've started sharing new videos and tips from celebrity trainer, Justin Gelband, to help viewers and fans "Train Like an Angel!"

Don't get jealous; get fit! Until tomorrow PGX'ers...
