Those tiny berries are loaded with nutrients - a great edible obsession!

This time of year is a perfect time to stock up on blueberries. Even frozen, blueberries are still delicious and lose no nutritional value; an awesome way to add a healthy bonus to any meal!

Blueberries are considered a superfood and are jam packed with antioxidants. They are great for your skin and help your brain stay healthy and strong. Blueberries are also an excellent source of Vitamin C and E.

One of the great ways to incorporate blueberries into your diet is at breakfast. You can add them to a smoothie, fresh or frozen. The blueberries not only add health benefits but give the smoothies a soft purple color. This can help make those "Green Monster" smoothies look a little more appealing. If you enjoy having a hot breakfast, it works well as a topper on hot oatmeal or fresh protein pancakes.

This year, I've been seeing more blueberries in salads for dinner and lunch. In salads, blueberries work well with feta cheese, strawberries and spinach with a light vinaigrette dressing. These types of salads make for a quick and crisp summer dinner - epecially when you are in a rush!

Tip: Don't forget an easy and convenient way to take your PGX is by sprinkling the granules over the fresh fruit, oatmeal or salad!

Welcome to Part II of our BPM music blog series: On your mark, get set, MUSIC...GO!

This week, PGX is bringing you some high energy musical inspiration via what we like to call Tuesday Tunes.

Every once in awhile we all feel a little unmotivated when it comes to working out. Personally, nothing gets me pumped up to workout quite like a good song, especially if that song has high beats per minute (BPM). No matter how energized I am, the motivation to actually grab my runners and head for the door only comes from adrenaline-inducing tunes!

Without my music, my energy remains unfocused - and I know I'm not the only one! So, I went around the office today and collected some of my coworkers fav summer workout songs. And there's no surprise that all of them contained high BPMs! Feel free to borrow a few (or all)!

Check out PGX's Part I on BPMs here.

Songs That Made the Cut This Round:

  1. Kaskade & Deadmau5 - Move for Me - 128 BPM
  2. Steve Angello, Laidback Luke & Robin S - Show Me Love - 129 BPM
  3. Calvin Harris - Feel So Close (Benny Benassi Remix) - 131 BPM
  4. Doman & Gooding - Runnin' - 129 BPM
  5. Daft Punk - Around the World - 132 BPM
  6. Afrojack & Shermanology - Can't Stop Me (Radio Edit) - 130 BPM
  7. Martin Solveig & Dragonette - Hello - 129 BPM

What songs get you pumped up for a workout? Do they have high BPMs?

Check out your songs BPMs on sites such as http://www.beatport.com or http://www.runhundred.com, and then tell us about them! We'd love to do a blog post based on your favourite workout songs!

Getting Weight-Wise with PGX and Flamenco Dancing!

How do flamenco dance and PGX combine for better health? Here's my story...

Having written for this blog for quite some time now, I decided it was time to share my journey to better fitness and health. We all have our ups and downs on the road to our reaching our personal fitness goals. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has felt like a yoyo at some point. But after years of trying different diet and exercise routines, I've finally discovered the key to my personal success: flamenco and PGX.

Dance has always been a passion, hobby, and, best of all, a fabulous way to exercise! Livestrong.com estimates that for some dances such as ballet, swing, tap, ballroom, line and flamenco dancing, one can burn up to 300 calories per hour. This number of course depends on many factors such as your weight and intensity, but it is still a sure sign that dance is a fun and effective way to get in shape!

I've tried many of these dances but none of them have helped me like flamenco. Flamenco is a full body workout that will get you moving practically every muscle in your body from your fingers, wrists, arms, shoulders, hips, legs, feet, abs, and even your facial muscles (have you seen the facial expressions?)! Its the type of dance that gets your heart pumping and your lungs working, giving your body a balanced aerobic workout. It encompasses fast and slow rhythms, having you alternate between low and high intensity movements that keep your muscles working and increasing your stamina.

How does PGX fit in with my routine? Over the weekend I had the chance to perform in a flamenco production of Peter Pan and after a flattering but incorrect alteration, I had a limited amount of time to squeeze into my mermaid costume. I started to take PGX Satisfast with Whey Protein prior to meals and before I knew it, the skirt fit!

Without PGX, flamenco did wonders for me. With PGX, I'm getting closer and closer to my personal health goals! If dance worked for me, it could work for you. If not flamenco, there are plenty of options (even dancing in the kitchen for an hour is great!). Find something you love and give it a swing, a tap and a whirl!
